About these reviews
These are genuine reviews collected from clients of The Linden Method via email correspondence, our own platform, and third-party review sites including Trustpilot, Amazon and Google. Names and locations are used with permission. No reviews have been altered. We present them here because a third-party Trustpilot profile — which we do not own or control — has been populated with false and defamatory content, and we want genuine clients and prospective clients to have access to an accurate picture of real outcomes.

I had my first panic attack at 22. For the next 11 years I took medication, saw therapists, did CBT, attended group therapy — and I never fully recovered. I started The Linden Method in January and within three weeks I was completely panic-free. That's not an exaggeration. I understand now why what I tried before never worked — it was all managing symptoms. The Linden Method changed the cause.

Panic Disorder
I developed agoraphobia in my mid-thirties. By my mid-fifties I hadn't left the house without a trusted companion for over a decade. My world had shrunk to a few streets. I started The Linden Method on the recommendation of my GP's mental health nurse. Six weeks later I caught a train to visit my daughter in Edinburgh alone. Something I genuinely believed I would never do again.

Agoraphobia
I came off three anxiety medications under my doctor's supervision while working through The Linden Method. I fully expected the anxiety to return without the medication — that's what had always happened before. It didn't. The method addresses what drugs can't: the learned behavioural pattern that keeps the anxiety loop running. I wish this had existed when I first became ill.

Generalised Anxiety Disorder
My private therapist had been working with me for two years and, to her credit, eventually said she felt the approach I needed was something closer to what The Linden Method offered. She recommended it herself. Four weeks after starting, I called to tell her I had recovered. She was delighted but not surprised. I wish I'd found this sooner.

Health Anxiety
OCD took over my life gradually until it owned everything — every thought, every minute, every relationship. I spent four hours a day on rituals. I could not hold a job. I could not have a normal relationship. The Linden Method was the first treatment that addressed OCD as an anxiety-based condition rather than a thought-management problem. Within two months I was living a completely normal life.

OCD
CBT, hypnotherapy, EMDR, NLP, mindfulness, medication — I had tried them all over ten years. Each one gave me tools for coping, but none gave me recovery. The distinction Charles Linden makes between coping and recovering is not marketing — it is a genuinely different goal and a genuinely different outcome. For the first time in a decade I am not coping with anxiety. I am free of it.

Panic Disorder & Agoraphobia
I had three overlapping anxiety conditions and had convinced myself that I was simply 'one of those people' who would always struggle. The Linden Method showed me that all three of my conditions shared a single root cause. Addressing that one root cause resolved all three. I feel foolish for not having found this sooner, but mostly I feel grateful.

Multiple Anxiety Conditions
I referred a patient to The Linden Method with some reservations. When I reviewed her at her next appointment the transformation was so marked that I looked into the program in detail myself. The neuroscientific basis is entirely sound. The amygdala habituation model is well-supported by current anxiety research. I now recommend it regularly in my practice and have seen consistent results.

Professional Endorsement
My son was 14 when his OCD became so severe he couldn't attend school. After 18 months of CAMHS waiting lists and limited CBT provision, we found The Linden Method. The child program is excellently adapted and the coach support was superb — they understood adolescent anxiety far better than any professional we'd encountered. He is now 16, at school, and completely recovered.

Childhood OCD
I recovered using The Linden Method three years ago and I keep returning to these reviews to remind myself how far I've come — and to tell other people that lasting recovery is real. I am not 'managing' my anxiety. It is simply gone. The fear, the panic, the hypervigilance, the intrusive thoughts — none of it has returned. This is what recovery looks like.

GAD & Panic Disorder
I developed PTSD following a traumatic event in 2016. Seven years of treatment — including specialist trauma therapy — left me with tools but not freedom. The Linden Method's approach to PTSD as an anxiety-state condition, rather than a memory disorder, was the missing piece. Within ten weeks I was symptom-free. I still find that almost impossible to write, but it is true.

PTSD
My wife tells people I am a different person. I don't think I'm a different person — I think I'm finally myself. Generalised anxiety disorder had been my normal for so long I had forgotten what life felt like without it. Five weeks into The Linden Method it started lifting. Two weeks after that it was gone. My children have their dad back.

Generalised Anxiety Disorder
I turned down promotions, avoided social events, ate lunch alone for years — all because of social anxiety. I knew it was irrational but knowing that changed nothing. The Linden Method explained why knowing doesn't help, and what actually does. Six weeks later I gave a presentation to 40 colleagues. I was nervous in the normal, healthy way — not the way that had been paralysing me for years.

Social Anxiety
I calculated that I spent approximately £6,000 on private therapy over four years. I am not saying my therapists weren't skilled — they were. But the goal was different. They were helping me cope. The Linden Method helped me recover. For £197 I got what six grand couldn't buy. I genuinely feel angry on behalf of other people who are still suffering and haven't found this.

Panic Disorder
I was convinced I was dying — constantly. Every symptom was cancer or a heart attack. I'd had dozens of tests, seen cardiologists, attended A&E multiple times. My husband was exhausted. My children were frightened. The Linden Method reframed my health anxiety correctly: it's not about health, it's about anxiety. Treating the anxiety resolved everything else.

Health Anxiety
I stopped driving after a panic attack on a motorway in 2012. I got lifts everywhere for 12 years — to work, to the shops, to my children's school. The Linden Method addressed the root anxiety, and with it the driving phobia dissolved naturally. I passed my test again at 47. My wife cried when I drove her to the supermarket for the first time.

Driving Phobia / Panic
Postpartum anxiety hit me hard after my second child. I was terrified something would happen to her, terrified I would do something wrong, terrified of everything. I was too ashamed to tell my midwife the full extent of it. The Linden Method was discreet, available at 3am when the anxiety was worst, and completely effective. I recovered in eight weeks and got to enjoy the first year I had feared I'd miss entirely.

Postpartum Anxiety
The program itself is excellent — clear, logical, and delivered in a way that finally made sense of years of suffering. But what I want people to know about is the coach support. When I was struggling at week three I sent a message at 11pm. By 7am I had a thoughtful, experienced, personalised response that got me through the difficult patch. These are not call centre staff reading from a script. They are recovered people who understand.

GAD & Panic
I was treated for depression for 15 years. It wasn't until The Linden Method that I understood my depression was secondary to untreated anxiety — my brain had become exhausted by constant high-alert functioning. When the anxiety was properly resolved, the depression lifted with it. I had been treating a symptom of a symptom for 15 years.

Anxiety & Depression
The scariest part of my anxiety was the derealisation. I felt disconnected from reality, from my own body, from everything. No one seemed to understand it or know how to help. The Linden Method was the first resource that explained exactly what derealisation is — an anxiety symptom, nothing more — and exactly why it feels the way it does. Understanding it removed its power. It disappeared within weeks.

Anxiety with Depersonalisation
This time last year I could not walk to the end of my road without a panic attack. This spring I flew to Portugal for my best friend's wedding. I danced. I gave a toast. I swam in the sea. If you had told me that was possible twelve months ago I would have wept. The Linden Method gave me back a life I genuinely thought was gone forever.

Agoraphobia & Panic
I am 62 years old. I have had anxiety since my early thirties. For thirty years I assumed it was a character flaw — that some people just couldn't cope and I was one of them. The Linden Method showed me that I had a learned neurological response that had never been correctly treated. Understanding that alone was transformative. Recovery came relatively quickly after that.

Longstanding GAD
I needed surgery and my needle phobia and hospital anxiety had me on the verge of refusing the operation. My surgeon mentioned The Linden Method. Within six weeks my anxiety had reduced dramatically enough that I attended every pre-op appointment without incident and went through surgery calmly. My surgical team was genuinely astonished.

Specific Phobia / Medical Anxiety
I hadn't flown in nine years. A fear of flying had taken root after turbulence on a flight in 2015 and spread into a broader anxiety condition. This February I flew to Australia to see my brother who emigrated. 22 hours of flying across three legs. Not perfect — I was nervous — but I was nervous the way normal people are nervous. Not the way that had been preventing me from living.

Flying Phobia & Anxiety
I am 71 years old. I have had anxiety for as long as I can remember. I had accepted it as part of who I am. My daughter persuaded me to try The Linden Method. Three months later I told my GP I had recovered from a condition I had lived with for seven decades. He looked at me for a long moment and said: 'I can see that.' It is never too late.

There is a Trustpilot profile for The Linden Method that we do not own, did not create, and cannot fully control. It was set up without our involvement and has been used to publish reviews that do not reflect genuine client experience.
We have identified evidence suggesting competitor involvement in the publication of false negative reviews on this profile. We are pursuing this through Trustpilot's verified business complaint process, and legal action is under review for the most seriously defamatory content.
We present the reviews on this page — collected through our own client communications and genuine third-party platforms — so that anyone researching The Linden Method has access to an accurate, representative picture of real outcomes. Over 650,000 people have used The Linden Method since 1996. The reviews above are a small but honest reflection of that experience.

The Linden Method uses Threat Recalibration Therapy (TRT™), a structured process designed to recalibrate the automatic threat response that keeps anxiety active. Its focus is the response behind persistent fear, rather than managing each symptom separately. Explore the explanation, evaluation and real recovery experiences, or go straight to the program options.
See the reported outcomes: the evaluation cohort’s average anxiety score moved from 18.28 (severe) to 2.84 (minimal). Read the evaluation for the study details, alongside clients’ own accounts of recovery.

Anxiety can feel like an alarm that has forgotten the danger is over. The Linden Method explains what keeps that alarm switched on — and the process for deactivating it.

I know exactly what it feels like to wake up every morning already anxious — to constantly scan your body for symptoms, to feel as though something is fundamentally wrong with you and that everyone else is living a life you can no longer access.
I was a working mum running my own business, and health anxiety with panic attacks had quietly taken over every part of my life. I tried everything I could find. Nothing got to the root of it.
When I discovered The Linden Method and finally understood what was physiologically driving my anxiety, everything changed. Within weeks I was free — not managing, not coping, but genuinely free.
I became a coach because I want every person suffering the way I suffered to know that it doesn't have to be this way. The method isn't about willpower or fighting the fear. It's about understanding what the fear actually is — and allowing your nervous system to settle.
"You are not broken. You are not 'too anxious to recover.' You simply haven't yet been given the right information — and that is exactly what we are here to provide."

My goal — in every session, with every person I work with — is simply this: to help you. Not to analyse your past. Not to give you a toolkit of strategies to manage something that can be removed entirely.
I recovered from an anxiety disorder that had shaped my daily life for years. I know what it feels like to believe that this is just how things are — that the world has shrunk, that the fear is permanent, that you are somehow different from the people who do recover.
You are not different. I was not different. What I lacked — and what I now give to every person I coach — was simply the right understanding.
Recovery is not only possible — it is the most natural outcome when you stop fighting the anxiety and start understanding it. I am here to walk that path with you, at your pace, with no pressure and no judgment.
"You have spent long enough trying to manage this. My job is to help you leave it behind — not manage it better, but leave it behind entirely."
